All individuals, including employees, workers, contractors, applicants, and suppliers, have a responsibility to support the company in fulfilling the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act. This includes providing accurate information when requested, adhering to the terms of this policy, and reporting any known instances that violate it.

What is Modern Slavery?

Modern Slavery is a serious crime that involves the exploitation of individuals for criminal purposes. Victims often fear coming forward due to potential retribution or consequences from their abusers.

The Modern Slavery Act aims to combat slavery and human trafficking in the UK, consolidating existing offences related to trafficking and exploitation.

Modern Slavery can generally be defined as the exploitation of individuals through coercion, control, or deceit, resulting in forced labor, servitude, or human trafficking.

  • Individuals being compelled to work against their will through coercion, threats, or manipulation, often under abusive or degrading conditions.
  • Individuals being subjected to ownership or control by another person, often through force, manipulation, or deceit, stripping them of their autonomy and freedom.
  • People being treated as property or commodities, deprived of their dignity and basic human rights, often subjected to degrading or abusive conditions.
  • Individuals being restricted or confined against their will, either through physical restraints or other means of control, preventing them from exercising their freedom.
  • Limitations imposed on an individual’s ability to move freely, often as a result of coercion, control, or manipulation, restricting their autonomy.
  • Child labor refers to the exploitation of children through any form of work that deprives them of their childhood, education, or potential, and is harmful to their physical, mental, or emotional well-being.

We aim to establish clear procedures that help our employees recognize signs of modern slavery and prevent any exploitation within or associated with the Company. It is crucial that all employees uphold the Company's values and objectives, ensuring the integrity of the business is never compromised.

We strongly oppose any form of modern slavery and believe that no employee or associate of the Company should engage in or promote activities that contribute to or enable modern slavery. Our statement outlines the proactive measures we have taken to ensure that both TSS and our supply chains are free from any form of slavery.
